Hosts setup

(First time setup - step 2:A)

Time to fetch the papers you got from your ISP when you ordered the UUCP account.

General tab
Select a name for this setup - for example My setup. UUCP transport should be activated and Primary domain as well. The Mail domain - yes, this is where you enter your domain name. If you use a test account from Ymex, this is where you write mctest19.ybox.com or whatever number you got.

Transport tab
Which type of account have you got?
If you only received one set of Username and password, and you got a phone number, you should probably select Modem. If you got two sets of Username + Password, or if you are instructed to use your access account (PPP account) it
s more likely that you should choose TCP/IP. If you use a PPP account - thus connecting via Remote Access (NT) or Dial Up Network
images/mailcoach22000000009.gif
(Win 95), select the dial entry that you have previously created in Windows. Now, if neither of above choices match, you either connect through a proxy, ISDN router or have a leased line. In these cases, select TCP/IP and as dial entry, the selection Do not use RAS

Login tab
Pre-login is normally not used unless you have three logins. The lower, UUCP login is what is normally used. Enter your login username and password here. Note! If you have a username + password for a PPP access account, these are not entered here, but under the connection tab. Local UUCP hostname, this is the nodename of your UUCP, it should be specified in the
images/mailcoach22000000010.gif
papers from your ISP. Remote UUCP hostname is the nodename of your ISP:s UUCP - this should also be available in the papers from your ISP. If not, call them and ask for their UUCP node name, (The one that Shere= responds with)

Login script tab
The script is what handles the login to your ISP. It takes the settings you entered in the login tab, and exchanges login details using these. In 9 out of 10 cases, one of the pre-defined scripts can be used. Press the three dot button and see if you find the name of your ISP on one of the script files (*.scp), if not, select sample.scp or 540.scp and press OK.
