User setup

(First time setup - step 3)

There are a lot of features available in the user setup but we will just add the necessary details to get started. See the Reference section for details about other features in the user setup .

E-mail address:
Set the E-mail name for the first user. Do not enter the domain in this field.

Domain:
In the list-box, select the domain.
(usually just one to select from)

POP3 account:
Enter the same as in the E-mail field. There are times where you need to have a different ID in this field but this beyond normal use.

POP3 password:
Select the Password this user should have initially. He can change it using a remote command later on.

Access level:

One user must be selected as postmaster. Preferable this should be someone who administrates Mailcoach. Choose the access-level to postmaster (Sys.admin) for that user. For other users, select Access level = User, or if that user need to be able to send mail with priority, set access level to Priority mail.

IMPORTANT!

1. If you dont assign postmaster access level to a user, Mailcoach will automatically select the first user found in the database and assign postmaster access level to that user when the first request for a postmaster is received. If no user is found, it will automatically create the user ADMIN and assign this one as postmaster.

2. Make sure the user that is assigned as postmaster really is a user who checks his mail, otherwise you may miss important messages from Mailcoach, the UUCP subsystem or your ISP.
